Maybe when the LLM’s get better there will be even more alternative FW’s.
I have no idea how these things work really but seeing someone rewrite the MNM FW it seems like some new features to the other boxes as well, like the OT doesn’t seem completely impossible.

+1. I understand the reasons for disliking AI but it will soon (if not already) be impossible to escape software created with the assistance of it.
I’m an engineer myself and agree with everything you’ve said, my job is working at a higher level than before, it’s different but actually I love it (I am working on AI products too so am fairly deep in to it, but am by no means an AI uber fan and also have my fears and doubts about it).
Hoping soon the open source models will be good enough for a lot of work so we don’t have to rely on Anthropic/OpenAI for everything. That’s one aspect I’m less comfortable with.

you’re telling me / i got into tech late in my career, and i’m very thankful i had to struggle / troubleshoot the old fashion way. watching juniors today throw so much w/o an attempt to learn anything is painful, making mentoring a lot harder when there’s such a versatile crutch. so it goes…

Some people are just anti AI, which I do understand as there are lots of moral arguments about how it was trained, environmental arguments etc (let’s keep them out of this thread), and I can see how it’s a bit dystopian in some ways, but in other ways it enables awesome creativity like this. My thinking is that it’s going to be unavoidable for better or worse, so it’s worth learning to use it well

Had a quick go,
This is absolutely nuts… I can do all the “necessary” sequencer tricks. Seems to work well, it has control all too - which has always been a strange ommission on mnm…
Whats most interesting to me, is that the track lights now flash when triggered! This used to drive me nuts cause i didn’t know which track is playing or not… And i requested so many times to obvious no avail… Such a simple addition creating huge user impact.
I hope the development goes unaffected from external sources.
I can not be more grateful for this… Its the best new thing ever right now! Phew!
This mnm fw is here to stay!

what a great surprise!! ai supported or not i am shure there was a lot if work involved. now i get hope again to get trig condition on the md without mega command.
