New and empty project

can anybody tell me, what is the easiest way to setup a new project without any sounds or samples loaded and an empty sequencer (no patterns, songs, chains) ?

Well you just create a new project and your there. But that might be a to simple answer?

You’re right. Just remember, brt, that projects load with ‘default’ analog sounds for each track. There is no way to have an empty project in the sense of no sound being produced - every track starts with something and there are default FX settings too. But each track will start with its basic machine and basic settings.

Here’s how to initialise a project.

FUNCTION + GLOBAL (this is the red text underneath the TRACK button - hitting FUNCTION always chooses the secondary option for each button, represented by the red text.)
PROJECT (option displayed on screen) - hit Yes.
LOAD PROJECT (option displayed on screen) - hit Yes
Scroll to the bottom - CREATE NEW (option displayed on screen) - hit Yes

Have you watched Cuckoo’s tutorial vids on YouTube, brt? They’re brilliant for finding your way around the machine.

thanks lars and michael, exactly what i was after.
i did not realise the “create new” option, thought i have to start with a template (new to the AR)
sounds logical, that fx and synth parameters have to be at certain values …

another question:
is it possible to save a kit to the +drive and import it to another project (like sounds can be saved to the +drive sound library and loaded to kits in other projects)
i guess the problem would be that the linked samples are not there, right?

Correct, you need to save your sounds and that’s how you would be able to “import” them into another kit/project.

Kits on the +Drive would be nice for sure. Like having a kit manager just like with the sounds.

A new project after you set it up like you want it to be, with stuff like global settings etc etc can be transferred using C6 to your computer. Then when starting a new project you got your sysex template for new projects.

why would you use sysex to safe the template project?
i thought i can simply store my project to the +drive after customizing it and then load t as a template. am i missing something?

Sure that works too.
