Wow that looks really good. That Miami also looks amazing.
Looks pretty nice indeed. Two Kick Drums and Two Snares? Really interesting. Wonder how much it will be. Always really liked the 606 sound, but of course it’s a pretty static sound.
This thing has crossed my radar again. It is quite unique.
A recent post in the “your setups” thread with a simple 606+A4 and recorder had me longing for the simplicity of a WYSIWYG analog drum machine and the A4.
Something I hadn’t realized before was how many patterns the Drumatix and Miami can keep in memory. 12 banks x 16 patterns (192 patterns total).
Sure they’re only 16 steps each but that’s still far more than the TR-8, and right up my alley.
I don’t see it on Analoguehaven’s site, though.
Has anyone in the US ordered one? If so, how? Direct? Schneidersladen.de? How long was the turn around?
Tanzmaus & Tanzbar Lite both just around the corner and used Tanzbars down to $750-$800 lately, as well.
Ah, the lure of limitations.
I’m so stoked. Just ordered one of these, and it should arrive within 15 business days. I’m trying to split my A4 and yet to arrive Monomachine into 2 separate setups by pairing each with either the Drumatix or my RYTM.
I initially planned to pair the A4 with the RYTM, and rack them together; this would leave the Monomachine paired with the Drumatix. But now I’m having second thoughts because A4/Drumatix and Monomachine/RYTM sounds like an equally cool way to pair them.
Is it possible to sequence each instrument of the drumatix via midi with OT?
Damn, that is pretty good new and get me want much more to get this beast!
But after reading, I’m not sure how to program the midi channels on OT…
How to program those midi notes on OT? Instead of using Midi channels for choose between midi 1-16 I use the program setting button?
You can use any single midi channel. Those note numbers just correspond to specific keys on the keyboard. If you start playing the notes from any midi channel, you’ll eventually find where they start.
Right.
The Note #s correspond to the Note parameter on the MIDI tracks.
Thank you for your help guys
So I sold my Acidlab Drumatix awhile back to help fund my Jomox Alpha Base preorder, but I instantly regretted it, and have been missing it hard. I just ordered a new one today, after selling some stuff. This is the best sounding analog drum machine ever made imo.
Of all the samples I’ve made of the 606 and all its variants, the Drumatix is definitely the biggest, crispest, rawest, and funkiest.
It’s raw, dry sound has the power to both cut through a mix, and also take up just the right amount of space without too much FX needed, which somehow makes it easy to fit into a mix as well.
The hi-hats & cymbals are so crisp, the snares are so punchy, the clap is the best analog clap I’ve heard, and the kick is huge.
I’m not a huge fan of its sequencer though because I don’t like being limited to 16 steps a pattern, and having to rely on pattern chaining to extend the lengths because the buttons aren’t the best imo. But the sound is so damn good/perfect.
Yea, I wish he’d make a lower cost, sequencer-less module version.
Or, give it the TT-606 sequencer.
I had this wild idea of getting an OT just for sequencing the Acidlab Drumatix with the kick, snare, and clap sent to 3 of the OT’s inputs, and the Drumatix’s mix out (with all the remaining sounds) sent to the OT’s 4th/final input. That sounds like it’d be a lot of fun no doubt.
