Neuzeit Instruments Drop

Just when I was about to splurge the same amount of cash on a faderfox MX12…
Is there anything out there that lets you fade perfectly into parameter snaphots AND can have one encoder send multiple CCs for macros?
I would love to get away from using different macro/FX tricks on DT2 or Syntakt to achieve transitions that ramp up over multilple devices and tracks without menu diving live.
Faderfox products like mx12 or pc12 do not seem to handle the multiple CC per pot/fader unless I missed that and they are pots with snap function, which is not the same experience the Drop gives with its encoders.
To get the albility to fade into scenes and to do over multiplr devices, I was even contemplating an Octatrack, but could never resolve myself to spend the money just for that feature.

Now it’s letting me configure ramping curves too, on multiple devices? Definitely holding my wallet until this product comes out as it would be the most quality of life setup I could get myself for my elektron gear and synths and let me swap hardware without losing configurations when I reassemble a setup together .

I know Sysex is a pain but man I wished they would implement it so I could use it with some of my older synths… 800 is a lot but a fair price considering what it does. It’s on my wishlist.

Sure. Maschine+ lock states store and recall the entire state of the Maschine project. You cannot choose to state lock just a single parameter for example, its an all or nothing affair. The drop lets you decide precisely which parameters youy want to lock, and even allows you to combine several snapshots together, whereas in M+, only a single global lock state can be active at any given time.

Gotcha, thank you

Octatrack scenes don’t work for MIDI anyway!

There are issues sending that amount of data down a single DIN cable.

Hopefully not an issue with Drop, as it has many connections. Perhaps they’ll add some sort of CC data thinning options as well.

They have definatly some filters for midi data - that it allows for stepped data - isnt known yet - but i suppose as they make this type of devices also for themselfs, they are open to suggestions improving the device.

some sort of data thinning configuration would be a great thing to see if they are giving this box any updates on the firmware dept- But if you only have one device per MIDI port, the issue wont come up immediately on your first patches

I’m wondering if it allows for midi feedback if you tweak the knobs on the synth itself, so the led rings will always display the current value and the “drop” feature still works?

Yeah, they mentioned to me that if the device you’re connecting to supports it then it will take that midi feedback to update the led rings.
