if u think of it as an offset in memory allocation its perfectly reasonable.
exists in natural language too, for example age counting: a new born baby is 0 years old. on birth its his 0th birthday.

btw on birth it’s Day 1, there is no Day 0 (but there is D-1, D-2 etc…)

i think of birth as 0. and on completion of the first day… 1 day. we pay age forward

comical how such a simple thing that we engage in frequently, can be a little mind boggling - head hurting when you start splitting hairs.

i have had my rytm for 73 days or 74 if you count today. even the date counting calculation wants to exclude the current day from addition.

In China a child is 1 year at birth… On Chinese new year everybody is a year older… Hence a baby born the day before new year will be 2 years old on his/her second day in life…
