Am I remembering correctly that a neon power indicator in an extension lead can introduce noise or am I imagining it?

I doubt a neon would cause any audible noise. Mains power is noisy enough and for most of us that won’t cause an issue as there is usually sufficient filtering either in power supplies and/or on power rails. I use extensions with neon indicators all the time and I’ve never had an issue
