Need to Contact Elektorn (MnM in Peril!)

I normally would not do something like this but I’ve been waiting to hear back about my “LOW BATTERY” issue. I used the ticket service through the main Elektron site and have not heard anything back yet. I’m not 100% too sure what happened but I do not feel like opening up yet another one instead - I post here in hopes that someone who works for Elektron/another user has had the same issue and fixed it themselves.

The MonoMachine is a MKII model that has been displaying “LOW BATTERY” on the start-up screen. I simply want to replace the battery with one that is not running low. That is all.

The machine is NOT under warranty. Any other users here know the steps I need to go through in order to fix this? Ever fix it yourself? I’m tempted to go the DIY route I just don’t want to open the synth to find out that battery is soldered in. I’m sure y’all can understand that.

Well, I did an internet search and didn’t find a specific how-to guide on the battery replacement, but I know a lot of people do dig around in their machines, especially if the warranty is finished. So, if you know what you’re doing/looking at, I think you might be able to handle it. Below is a photo I found of the MNM’s battery, still in place on the motherboard. It looks like it’s just held there by tension, and not soldered in place.

Wow, thanks FreeFall! I’ve done a few CR2032 holder replacements on old Roland synths that have soldered lithium cell batteries that are not 2032’s, so it’s nice to know that Elektrons have a simple battery replacement like this.

Any idea if the rest of the machines have the same type of holder? I think all my machines except the A4 are out of warranty now (maybe OT has a few months left at most), so battery replacement is definitely something I’ll be doing myself!

Yup, running on 4 years now, works fine!
