Need help for configuring korg ms 20 mini into octatrack mk2

Hi guys someone can explain me how to configure korg ms 20 mini into octatrack mk2 as sequencer? i saw some tutorials on yt but it doesnt works! thx

What do you mean by “configure”? What precisely are you trying to do?

Using OT as step sequencer

i saw some tutorials onyt but it doesnt works!

What have you tried to do so far?

What MIDI channel number have you set on your OT’s MIDI sequencer track? The MS-20 mini only responds to MIDI channel 1.

channel 1

someone can make me a guide step by step please?

I hate to be that guy, cause I’m sympathetic to starting out with the octatrack. BUT

Read The Frippin Manual. I think you owe it to yourself to invest some time since you’ve already invested a hefty sum of money. This isn’t a drumbrute impact that you’ve bought, this is a complicated piece of music equipment and you will need to read up on how to do things. So if you’re already stuck at how to midi sequence, Then sampling and looping will give you even more headache’s

If not applicable there are tons of YouTube videos.
Search octatrack + midi. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding what you need.

You can also read merlins guide which is a lot more condensed and more easily read then the manual.

Good luck! :four_leaf_clover:

What I’m trying to convey is that you will hit a lot of roadblocks with the octatrack and therefor you should make it a habit to consult the manual.

Physical connections:
Connect a working MIDI cable from the OT’s MIDI Out to the MS-20m’s MIDI In.

On the MS-20m:
Set up the sound you want to play.

On the OT:

  1. Access the MIDI mode by pressing the [MIDI] key.
  2. Access the NOTE SETUP page; set CHAN to 1 and remember to press the knob to activate this value.
  3. Use GRID RECORDING mode or LIVE RECORDING mode to enter some trigs in the sequencer.
  4. Press PLAY to start the sequencer.

The OT should now be sending MIDI notes to the MS-20m.
