Yeah I mean I finally pulled the trigger once it got to a point where it was affordable for me to own one, that was just a few months back, I’d be incandescent to be honest if they pulled the rug, no regerts though even though it’s last gen now I’m super happy with it, definitely the nicest board I’ve had or will ever likely have…
Interesting to see the Maschine buttons have been removed. With it being one screen either
- they are just separating the product lines.
- there’s a new Maschine with the single screen coming.
- this is beginning of Maschine being depreciated.
Given their addiction to ‘content’ and that they must be a large part of their current business model, 3 is unlikely, but you never know. The M+ hasn’t really been pushed much and M3 is getting on now too.
Remember KORE? Yes me neither…
Obviously the keyboard is top quality hence the price, so it’s an investment that makes sense for people who own Komplete and want a high quality keyboard.
Loopop says NI told him, the integration with Maschine might come later. Take it for what you will.
Another big plus about the 88 key MK3… this one fits in the Output Platform desk.
Basically covers all my wants, plus extras…
Midi 2.0, polyphonic aftertouch, and (not new) fully weighted hammer-action keys.
extras I’m excited about are the 4 pedal ins with customizable controls.
If they are using the new FATAR TP/110 rather than the TP/100 that was probably in the mk2 then by all accounts it should be a noticably better keybed than the last iteration.
That was a great system. Always wanted a hardware controller for it, but the only I bought, then returned suffered from drifting.
Kore 2 was great for sound designing, thanks to creative routing and the combo snapshots over an x/y pad (basically what Camel Audio/now Apple Logic only Alchemy has).
No going to lie. I want one.
This is turning into an expensive year
Actually yeah I do, I owned it when it was still a thing but yeah I jumped ship before it was abandoned then hopped on the maschine bandwagon…
I’m glad I’ve been downsizing! <3
lol
As a newbie to NI controllers, did the previous versions have the ability to integrate seamlessly with 3rd party plugins like Arturia soft synths and display parameter information? This looks like a very useful tool. What are the major selling points of the new version versus the previous model? Thank you for the insights.
For me, this would be a major improvement over my old CME UF-80 that clacked on a couple keys. That thing was a beast that crapped out at the end of last year (16 years of use).
I was hoping these features would be available, particularly MIDI 2.0, before dropping money on a replacement
Yeah the old komplete keyboards and maschine all play nicely with nks instruments
THANK GOODNESS!
They finally implemented tab buttons for interacting with the software/sound design!
That was the make or break for if I was going to want this or not.
Polyphonic aftertouch- yeah, cool I guess.
I don’t know what else.
Preferably, I wish they’d implement this update for mk2- but they won’t.
If I start another music project, then ill probably grab one of these
PSA: The NI forum is largely a compendium of general complaints, along with questions about DJ hardware, BUT there is an amazing, active thread of community contributions to NKS mapping of various third-party plugins. Really valuable if you’re using a Komplete Kontrol (now just “Kontrol”) keyboard (or a Maschine controller) and are willing to use the Komplete Kontrol software as a plugin host within your daw.
Now I’m listening…… ![]()
Yeah until a new version shows up I’m not buying and I was just set on buying a Maschine+ ![]()
Does this mean that they are going to bring the Komplete Kontrol software up to speed?
I’d believe that if they hadn’t removed the buttons or the screen was touch sensitive to emulate then. Still, they may well be telling the truth.
