Nahre Sol Improv on a random modular sequence

Nahre Soll is a classically trained keyboardist with a lot of composition skills, and a very flexible playing style. She’s also pretty fearless musically.

In this video she works through various improvisation ideas based on a random modular sequence created by Andrew Huang. I like that she presents so many threads of ideas, there are various improvisational/compositional ideas here to follow. She also shows how she breaks down the analysis of this random piece with an irregular beat. I just couldn’t resist posting this here, and hope a few others find this as interesting as i did.

She’s also put out a whole series of other videos, educational but fun, and all pretty advanced.

She’s playing a Yamaha CP88 in this video (i think).

She’s a ridiculously good musician and improviser. Every time I watch one of her videos I’m inspired to try to get better at playing keys.

Yeah, she’s great. I love how she rocks the Yamaha Reface CP for her portable pieces.
