Was slightly scared to listen to this. Itâs nice. I like how reserved it is.
Is there some deeper meaning to this release? Iâm not angry or being snarky but I have to say that this is the second news thatâs related to Electronic Dance and itâs another perfect example of something that I really didnât get. It is a great recording in terms of quality. It is bright and airy but why would I want to own this?
Iâm seeing a vinyl recording that is perfect for streaming but not necessarily dance floors or DJ boxes. I really donât know what has happened here but letâs put it like this, if this was your release, it would be panned.
I like all three artists, I just donât get the hype because this seems like something that belongs on digital and not necessary to run through âshop onlyâ promotions.
This earlier guitar part of my comment was a joke, a bad one at that, but I wasnât feeling âHis Rope/His Revolutionâ. It sounded like something you hear at Phonica on a Tuesday morning when the manager doesnât wan them playing all the stuff that they need to sell when the customers come. Itâs terrible to my ears because I know it wouldnât cut it as someone elseâs demo but the three amigos here have an edge on putting out this with the other tracks.

In any case, no EDM here⌠Rather combining powers into something unique and (IMO) magical.
Perhaps the limited vinyl run is reflecting the fact that itâs a bit different from their usual individual stuff. Or maybe theyâre keeping them all in the attic as a pension fund

Regardless of how groundbreaking the release is or is not, my guesstimate is that since all three have primary projects that are interesting and fulfilling, this may just be three people wanting to enjoy a collaboration. It definitely feels to me like a successful fusing of their own aesthetics and sounds.

I spent a bit of yesterday pissed off at the notion of this.
Encouraging people to travel into central London to buy this unnecessarily limited and exclusive release the day after lockdown ends in the middle of a global pandemic seems a bit irresponsible to me.
There is no reason that phonica and honest jons (who both have well established online platforms) couldnât have sold this online.
Surprising decision from both Thom Yorke and Kieran Hebden who normally make (in my view) really great and socially responsible decisions about accessibility and inclusivity.

I liked it. Second half more than first.
I didnât hear this one track but it too, is a bit formulaic. You can literally identify eachâs contribution. I love me some Fourtet, Burial, and Yorke but we must be getting into the collector phase of 2020 with all this black vinyl and black OT MKII.
This easily feels like something RSD lines form for but would not be my favorite record store clerkâs picks for their regular clients. This has a pipeline feel to it. I know many of you (me included), wish we had this marketing strategy but itâs not that significant of a release. It will be because everyone is talking about it but at any rate, letâs rejoice, music releases are welcomed since this year kinda sucked.
Anyway, my favorite Stablo and Traumprinz records have finally come down in price. If you want to hear something old that is great, go look it up. That shit is worth owning.

Same here. Itâs nice, and worth hearing once or twice but no way would I get the vinyl. Each of them sound better when doing solo work (or when theyâre with Radiohead in Thomâs case).
Itâs not as good as Rabbit in Your Headlights, but I think itâs enjoyable.
Very much agree. Thom Yorke (with and without Radiohead) and Four Tet are both kind of life-defininf artists to me but like @MoMo pointed out, it literally sounds like a 3-way collab. To my ears it just sounds too polite and âdemocraticâ. Itâs nice and all but these guys have set the bar way up.
The Ego/Mirror collaboration was actually released almost 10 years ago (2011), not âearlier this yearâ.
