My Live set using only Elektron gear for Mountain Skies Festival 2019

Happy Friday,

In early May flew out from Boulder to perform a set at Mountain Skies festival near Asheville, NC. I used only Elektron Octatrack, MKII, Analog Four MKI, and Digitone. I also used a CME XKey Air 25 with a USB host to use it to play keys on the Analog Four.

Here is a video of the 25 minute set https://youtu.be/ifLFQ97-ej4.

You can jump to individual songs within this video using links below.

  • 00:00 – “Gonna Rise Up” (Octatrack MKII, Analog Four for leads)
  • 3:13 – “The Strange Case of the Dancing Automatons” (Intro is field recordings in Octatrack MKII, rest of the song is ALL Digitone)
  • 09:11 – “Disconnected” (Octatrack MKII, Analog Four MKI)
  • 14:20 “Techno Planet” (ALL Analog Four MKI :^) )
  • 19:29 “Mind the Gap” (Octatrack MKII)

If you enjoy the songs in vid you can get the live album name your price here https://markmosher.bandcamp.com/.

I managed to fit the entire rig, cables, and GoPro and more into a Pelican 1510 which fit perfectly into the overhead bin.

For more detailed notes on this set see my blog post https://markmoshermusic.com/2019/05/31/new-live-album-concert-video-live-at-mountain-skies-2019/.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Nice one, that lead in the beginning is amazing…where is it from?

It’s a custom synced oscillator preset I made for the Analog Four from init. I’m performing it using a CME Xkey Air 25 which is MIDI’d to the A4 via the Kenton USB Host MII. I just love the A4 for leads!
