Over the past few days Iv’e been messing around with patches Iv’e programmed and sampled from my own sound banks for Octatrack and Analog 4.
Just a couple of little on the fly jams as I get used to Octatrack. The Analog 4 is pretty straight forward but Octatrack is deep and I’m getting there.
Anyways here’s 3 quick clips I did, some slow stuff with just Analog 4 and then some done with both Machines, Housey style. I’ll post more clips as I program more patches.
All FX are coming from A4/OT no external gear used then fed straight through Apollo Twin Duo straight in to Logic X.
These took about an hour each to do but I’m sure I’ll get better mixes once I take time to brush up the patterns/sounds I created.
Thanks a lot. I think once I get used to knowing what I wanna tweak or assign the PERF knobs I’ll be alright. Right now it’s a case of controlling the 2 machines quickly live which I’m getting used to now. I’ll make the patches available when I have a full bank. Will post more clips as I learn the machines a bit more.

I was just messing about with some of my new patches for an hour on the Analog 4 and decided to test out the sounds with the help of Octatrack on drums.
This is my second attempt recording clips live so excuse if any glitches. This one runs at 100 bpm. I’m using track 8 as the master FX on delay and filter duties.
As I get more used to Octatrack I’ll go for longer jams or sets, the Analog 4 is pretty easy but as i keep saying the OT is deep and I’m learning new stuff every day hehe.
Thanks for the links I will check these out. I’m used to producing House etc so this is a whole new direction for me (had hardware synths for years) but only just got around to be able to actually do anything useful with them as always working with Logic and Live etc.
Once I master the Octatrack more (learn how to save my sets) hehe I normally delete all after I make the demos then I should be ok. You’ll love these machines once you have them, I’m going to buy the Machine Drum UW shortly as well. I’m also gonna incorporate my Novation Nova 2X in to this setup in time.
PS
I’ll work on some more demos tonight when my boy gets off that damn PS4 lol and upload some more stuff. So far I’m just messing about here nothing serious but enjoying the hands on rather than a mouse for a change.
Thanks and I’ll go check those links now.

Yeah I used to own MM/MD and most recently the Analog Rytm which I had about a week and sold it… Wasn’t what I expected and it’s slow loading up samples.
My plan is to get all my A4 loaded up with some cool patterns then do one long set, by then I should have gotten used to the OT cause the A4 is pretty much easy to use and program.
Here’s a clip I did through the night, it’s a higher tempo at 121 bpm though… I wanna mix up both the 100 bpm and 120’s range in my sets. https://soundcloud.com/rob-lee-music/analog-4-octatrack-121-bpm-rob-lee
It’s pretty good being able to make up stuff within 30 mins to an hour on these machines, still need more practice though (pressing the wrong buttons) and having fast hands is the trick, I’ll get there.

I just made a new demo clip using the A4/OT… pretty slow stuff at 100 bpm but hope you like it.
Getting so used to these machines now and the way they work. Should really start preparing a longer set soon.
I keep updating my first post here so as not to spam the forum.
