When I connect my AK over USB it appears with a very strange name in the Sound and MIDI setup in Mac OS X. Anyone else experienced this?

I upgraded to 1.24 on the AK and OB was already on 1.15.

Did you check in your Overbridge Panel if the name corresponding… seems like a rename by mistake… you know when something not responding and you type a bit everywhere on keyboards and it happen something like that but you didn’t notice. Try to looking for Renaming the Device Name … See first if it’s not something like that.
I know you can rename device in Overbridge Panel and i guess you can maybe too in utility/audio & midi configuration of your mac
If not try to re-update the firmware. to see if it fix your issue.
Then send a support ticket. Because obviously we don’t have this behavior.
Also it seem like to have a return on the 31 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ
Do you have a laptop Packard Bell ? if yes engage that lead in the last research step
Hi!
And thank you for your replies!
It has the correct name in Overbridge Panel, and I renamed it in the Midi Studio in the audio & midi config. but it still shows up as ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ under Audio Devices in the same application.
Very strange. I’ve been playing around with it for a few hours and it seems to otherwise work as it should.
I’m on a 2012 MacBook Pro.
Try a support ticket. Do you tried to uninstall / reinstall overbridge ?
Reboot ?
Yeah, I will do that. I did a factory reset and reinstalled 1.24 with no change. Thanks for your input!
Ok, I’m not alone then.
I have no other problems so I’m happy anyway, but I will create a support ticket.
Update: Filed a support ticket earlier and got an answer just now. It is a known but pretty rare bug. It doesn’t affect the function of the synth but Elektron is (of course) working to solve it.
Hi, same situation here
but happy to know that elektron is trying to solve
I’m adding my voice to this cry for help
Same issue on MacBook Pro 2015, OSX Sierra
+1 same problem here!
LoL, doesn’t look like it tho ![]()
I’ve just received my Analog Four today and I have the same problem using OS X. It doesn’t seem to be a problem, but would appreciate a fix. I’ve also updated to 1.24 (arrived with 1.23).
I don’t think it’s an actual performance issue, just a usb descriptor error. From the looks of the screenshots is happening mostly to non English setups? I’m sure they’ll fix it but really I wouldn’t worry about it…
I, too, have this happening. Nothing functionally wrong but it is annoying.
I have the same problem…it’s funny…
Try add new configuration in Audio/midi setup and thew will be show OK.
