I have set the arranger to mute some tracks per pattern. However there is no effect. This is with flex and pickup machine tracks.
I know there is an old thread about this but no resolution. Even with loop off etc the mutes simply have no effect. It is an OT so it’s probably a setting I’m missing. What could it be?
There is a difference between normal mutes and mutes within Arranger:
Normal mutes cuts the audio completely while arranger mutes just suppress trigs from triggering (again). Even if the samples are not looping at least long samples with long envelopes will continue sounding and you also will hear FX tails.
Additionally: When there is a track with no trigs at all audio may still continue from a previous pattern (starts silent track setting).
Mixer mutes override arranger mutes. Unmute tracks in the mixer for the effect to be heard in the arranger.
And remember the first rule of OT’s strange behaviour fixing: a simple reboot may get the OT to obey your orders again.
@tnussb is correct. if you have looping turned on or a long hold/release values in the amp settings muted tracks will continue to play. If you are changing parts between patterns you can cut things off by turning starts silent to on. but different rows of the same pattern will solely be handled by your amp settings.
So based on the fact that arranger mutes only mute triggers I’m assuming they will just not work for pick up machines since pick up machines do not operate with triggers?
Correct. You COULD Set your SCENE assignments and make some with the Amp volume set to MIN on that.
So for example ROW 00 is has SCENE 1 & 9 for A and B Respectively
Row 01 has scenes 2 & 10 which has T1 volume down or something which “mutes” that track in essence.
Thank you! I’ll try this later
I just ran into this problem. Fortunately i’m already bold otherwise i would have pulled all my hair out. Damn it, it doesn’t work.
The row is playing fine with the mute but it doesn’t mute when chained after the previous one.
E.g: B01. no mute
B01. T1 & T2 mute
I tried to set scenes, it doesn’t work, the T1 and T2 are still not muted.
I tried start silent, doesn’t work either.
I tried rebooting. I’m about to smash the OT on the wall.
One of the issues seems to be that the arranger doesn’t take over the scenes. Or it just don’t take them in account, i don’t know, it’s a mess.
Even HALT doesn’t stop some loops although they are set on LOOP=OFF…
