I lol’d far too hard. Scared my partner in the other room.
It’s pretty solid pedal humor
Dude, I still have one of this somewhere. This resonates with me badly…
I’ve still got one in a drawer somewhere as well and half of the cd’s in there make me cringe.
I bought a small one a couple years ago because my commute for work was long and went through bad cell spots. It was probably the seed planted that lead to me getting an ipod and trying to get off music streaming. Now buying cds and ripping them to my computer is one of my favorite hobbies…again.
I can totally appreciate that, I actually have a couple smaller ones with dvd’s and shit in them too, probably same drawer as the big one. I don’t really stream music, I like mp3’s as well. Old people shit right here, the value of “owning” a “physical” product lol.
I’ve always loved physical media and for me, as a young person who toured and dreamt of paying rent as a musician, I just never stopped buying records in one form or another knowing that’s how the artists get paid. If I want good art to continue then I pay for good art. And yeah, it’s the baseball cards for gen x and y. Haha!
You win, I bow down.
I remember going to see the cure in high school and they had no opening band, just played for like 4 hours straight.
Kids these days love The Cure, which means I get to snag the reissued tshirts I was too poor to buy as a kid. My 16 year old loves buying me shirts of all my favorite bands, it’s kinda sweet.
yeah I never had any cool shirts but I definitely went to a few concerts in my day. I did see some memes that seemed to indicate goth is a current trend but I was hard pressed to believe it.
that might be the first time I’ve ever used the phrase “in my day”, fuck, I think I just aged like 7 years in the last 10 seconds.
I’ve done that with a few band shirts that I never got around to at the time, but I also still wear Coil t-shirts that I got ~23 years ago… they’re in pretty good nick too somehow.
Sounds about right.
