I too am confused by the last couple memes but I kinda want to see whatever that video is in @phaelam’s post — modular, OT, Cirklon, Aphex shirt? Sounds like my kind of content.

That Jeff Mills one is so spot on.
If you’re infront of a huge crowd of munted clubbers, you can literally get away with anything.

I once watched a guy who was flown in from out of state and paid a lot of money, only to do a set of nothing but muting and unmuting stock loops on an MPC Live.

The drug-addled crowd danced on with abandon. :man_shrugging:t4:

At a gig I did in 2015, the bloke on before me was flown from UK to Australia (they paid his flight) and they paid him for his set. He had a lap top and pressed play on a pre made set, stood there bobbing his head for an hour.

FYI The UK government is looking at ways to try and stop this kind of behaviour, well any kind of congregation really (unless he was looking at porn whilst running his set)

Claiming that for my next project name.

My niece, who is a touring and session violinist, did a tour with a famous producer/DJ, so I tuned into The Today Show to watch her appearance there with him. He basically pressed “play” on his laptop and just stood there while my niece and the rest of the live musicians played the music.

Three guesses as to who it was, and the first two don’t count.

I once watched 1200 micrograms live, they had about 20 synths on stage.

I then met the guy who organized said event.
He had to provide all the synths. None of them were actually plugged into the mixer. The sound came from a laptop that was hidden behind two stacked synths.

Also: one of his friends who helped organize the event ran off with all the money.

Here’s a somewhat on topic picture:

I saw aphex back in the 90s.
He just pressed play on a laptop…then proceeded to lay on a couch and play PlayStation for the next 2 hours.
