I posted a meme a few days ago, which to me simply showed the blues and jazz as the birth of modern music, funk as the pinnacle (I do love a bit of funk, or music which has “the funk”, which also includes some techno etc.) and then a regression towards manufactured/fake music. It was just a spontaneous post at the end of a long day in work that I hadn’t thought about much. Another forum member kindly alerted the fact that some some content of the meme was potentially sensitive/offensive. I agreed and felt annoyed with myself for not spotting that and deleted it within 5 minutes of posting. Just wanted to say that if anyone saw that and felt offended by it, I apologize. I also felt that sharing what happened might prevent others from making the same mistake I did (lesson learned, look again and think twice before posting anything). I’ll continue to enjoy checking out the memes on this thread, but this is my last.

I had a similar thing many months ago. Likewise, I deleted it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t post more wholesome memes in future.
True man. It just reminded me that I’d like to spend less time on social media than I have been recently (as it can be a distraction from clear thinking), so I said that as an incentive to myself to do so.
people are too sensitive these days and cant laugh at themselves if it hits a little bit to close to home, im all for equality and i dont judge people personally, but a stupid meme shouldn’t hurt your feelings that much
Sorry, I deleted my reply because I forgot to reply to you directly, then couldn’t because the same content cannot be used twice, so I’m sending it to you in a dm.
I wasn’t personally offended but I did wince looking at it because of the potentially offensive connotations. The subsequent removal was very much appreciated, because rather than saying nothing, or trying to justify it, they’ve recognised the sensitivity of the matter. I tried not to make an immediate judgment on the user and have a lot of respect for their consideration, response and apology.
Edit: And in the spirit of openness and honesty, I flagged the post (i wasn’t the user to initially respond) And again, not because I was offended by it or the user, but because I didn’t want anyone else to be. And by doing so these things led to positive reflection.
Maybe that’s not my call to make, but I heard this phrase the other day “Justice needs a accomplice”
One for the England fans (sorry everyone else):
Amazing! I didn’t realise he did such convincing vocal impersonations

There should be a meme about people who get an Octatrack and after a day post “people overstate how complicated the OT is, it’s really not that difficult”. That’s unconscious incompetence my friend.
Now the Dunning-Kruger effect should be called the Octatrack effect.
Octatrack learning curve

As a fomer Octatrack owner…this is definately the best picturesque description…
I love the Octatrack. But i hate it too.

That’s no Jay Z Wonderwall/99… jk
Simply awesome!
