lookin forward to the final week of tunes. todays was enjoyable to make, i really like having a decent lil digital piano on deck at all times so i can play random melodies when the feeling strikes. i feel instinctively more creative with how i approach rhythms on piano keys.

hung out with the family tonight, got to hang with my baby niece for longer than usual. wild watching my parents still making the same kind of stressful ādoinā too muchā mistakes i see young first time parents making all the time at work. chilling out goes a long way!
slapped this together to meet todays quota. felt like a nice unwind of my day. i fully committed to getting an op-1 field. my big old paycheck is arriving within the next couple weeks, and hot dam im ready for a summer of fun with an op-1

got another fun one today. started it off on my lunch break, brought the ep133 into work and got most of the rest done at the snack table with the final two stragglers. they were digging the tunes, one of them was hitting the table with one finger in the same way i was hitting the pads. getting these kids into beat making early!
i like the main chords synth sound, made it on the reface cs with the oscillator sync osc type, i think its wonky

recorded todays a little different than usual, tried to do three steps at once by switching scenes live on the ep133 while also playing my impacts and tags live on the 404. then i only had to do one more round of recording the effects with cassette and the 303 sim on busses 3 & 4. streamlining my process more and more!
todays kinda sucks. i made it at work and got the kids groovin but they start dancing to just a kick and snare so not always the best critics. got nothing else to do tonight tho so might make some more tunes, i dunno.

alright i like this one way more. i was noodling on the digital piano and recorded some loops on the 404 looper. at first i was gonna try to make it be an ever evolving loop deal, but i wasnt totally sure how to record the looper output directly. i also didnt try at all so maybe its really easy. anyways, i took one of the loops i made, reversed it and ran it through zan-zou. never found a way to use it in my normal tunes but it makes this one reversed 4 bar loop sound like its constantly changing? i dunno but its sounds dreamy. plinked along over the top with some more piano notes. another very meditative ambient experience. i use an old iHome speaker as my main speakers and the bass in this was really wrapping up my body. felt like the room got choked when i cut off the sound.
only one more day! feeling pretty proud for making it all the way, pretty not proud with the whole failing to quit tobacco part tho. but i heard back from two different therapists today who actually have in-person availability so that is an unexpected result from this month.

we made it! the final day of music may! it was a fun ride. thanks so much for hanging out and checking out the tunes my friends. as i said earlier im gonna compile my favorites on a tape, ive got a few funny ones to choose from. ill probably end up doing that tomorrow.
this is a fun beat and i decided to challenge myself a little more by doing the same thing i did a few days ago where i recorded all the tags and impacts live while switching scenes, but stepped it up to an extra level of difficulty by doing the FX too. i think this kinda forces me to chill on the fx (lol everyone says i should) and gets me practiced for doing a more involved live set. could be a cool thing to do. and i filmed it!

today was a really nice day! went to the zoo to see the new exhibit for a tree kangaroo and some red pandas, they reminded me so much of my cat. if only a tree kangaroo would want to live with me. then went to a park with some buddies and did some light jamming, we ended up making some cool jungle type sound for a bit and that inspired this tune. came home and made this one on the mpc sample. the back half is way better than the first half, im still quite a novice with music this speedy. played around with some Zero G sample cds.

today was a real heater, feeling like summer!
started the day off with a tune at Matthews Beach, i like the space in this tune. chill and laidback vibrations abound
had lunch with my mom and then kept the ball rolling over at Magnuson Park and made this housey tune with a sample from a flute cassette. trying to use this month to experiment with different styles and sounds. this came together alright, i cut it short because i started having a coughing fit and i didnt want to be the guy coughing up a lung and ruining the soundscape of the park so i dipped out. and promptly stopped coughing.

im going a little crazy with spending rn. i have an op-z and a pom-400 on the way. the suns got me feeling like livin it up. tonights tune doesnt totally match that vibe, made this one on the ep133 with some synth samples off the live 3. been using the Sample more than the ep133 recently, but gotta say the ep133 still reigns supreme in overall speed. i even turned velocity on for some hihat parts, tryna use some of the things i havent really tried. especially because the op-z is gonna be a lil synth module to strap to the ep133 so i feel like i gotta get back into the ecosystem and try new things.
keep em coming. curious how the opz and pom400 are gonna integrate into your sound. always enjoy hearing these! #schoolbabyboy4eva

thanks for stopping in! i actually just cancelled the pom-400 because i realized last minute that it was a pre-revision unit, hoping the seller is a gracious Reverber. but now a music thing modular workstation is calling my nameā¦
