Multiple [Sound / Parameter] Lock Trigs on ONE position?

Hello, Digitone Lovers!

I understand that it is possible to place multiple notes on one sequencer position.
However, is it possible to make these notes trigger different sounds?

Like e.g. via multiple sound locks on one sequencer position?
Or via different p-locks for each note that sits on that one position?

I guess this does not work? Any workarounds, especially for Digitone I?
On the Digitone II with 16 tracks one could allow to be more wasteful and just use another track, I get that, but on the older DN… no way?

So if I understand the DN architecture right, there is some polyphony for the note triggering, but no “sound- and paramter-lock polyphony”, if that is a concept. This seems to be absent from DN, only one set of s- and p-locks per seq position is possible. (BTW this last sentence put into the manual would really help to grasp that much faster… still wonderful boxes with a great feature set!)

Would be nice if anybody could confirm that limitation, as I am just trying to understand the boxes in theory. THANKS! (I will still get a DN II, there are just too many great things in there!)

I understand that there seems to be a workaround to put a different sound on the next or previous sequencer position and change the microtiming to fit. I just want to be sure that this is the current state of affairs.

Thank you very much for your attention!

No - you’d need to use additional tracks to ‘stack’ different presets/locks into a ‘chord’

I’ve never done it but there’s a write up on multimapping that I have bookmarked here. Multimapping should allow you to methodically play more than one sound on a single trig but it may or may not be the way you’re envisioning.

Go to the second post I linked and follow it to the write up, see if that works for you. It’s going to be a little involved but hopefully much joy.

Multimap for DN2 please !

(Microtiming works pretty well for 3 sounds, but it has its limits of course)
