currently running 1.0.3 firmware (the first revision, which fixed the global settings that weren’t saved after power-off)
just found out that there is a new firmware (2.01) available. so my question is in two parts…
what if anything does this update improve/fix?
2/ can i update from OS X? last time, i had to use a PC because something had happened with OS X 10.5 or 10.6 MIDI which made is unable to communicate with the MPD for firmware update purposes.
update: seems that OS X still will no longer play nice (or at all) with MPD32, for firmware update purposes. this has been the case for a few versions now (probably since os x 10.6 or 10.7). i ended up having to use a windows machine to get it working again.
also, it appears that older MPD32s cannot take the 2.01 firmware. i ended up reinstalling 1.03, which is probably no much different to 2.01. not sure which serial number is the cut-off point for this, but there are definitely other reports out there of this being the case.
