I also have an MPD226 I use with my setup, which includes a DT/DN pair, and it’s pretty great. It’s easy to program, and has multiple banks for both the pads and controls.

For an MPD -> DT -> Wavestate setup with the most flexibility, I would recommend also getting a MIDI merge box, and running the MIDI Out of the MPD into the DT, and then both the MIDI Out and MIDI Thru from the DT INTO the merge box, so you effectively combine the MIDI data of the DT and the MPD for the Wavestate, while also being able to control the DT with the MPD.
