MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 3)

isn’t he talking about moving through tracks, I don’t know I guess we had to be there?
watched it again, at first sounds like he’s only talking about selecting a new track but then at the end sounds like he’s talking about easily selecting whatever track he wants…
whichever it is I still think he’s not cool with it

I think it’s more of a muscle memory issue, but your comment got me LMAO

Previously, there were unused tracks available for free selection. Moving to a submix track using the track +/- buttons is inconvenient.

Creating a new track by accident is inconvenient as well, no? So the new way makes more sense to me. Want new track? Use the button. Scroll through existing tracks? Use other buttons.
You can now be on track 1 and create a new track without having to go to the last one, how convenient is that?

Solved the issue. Went to my friends house and copy the AIR components directory to my root of the synth folder.

If someone needs help on this in the future, please let me know. Happy to help.

Some of those tips were already on 2.0. You can also fatten up drums or whatever by using a pad to Simultaneous Play itself on 1 or more layers without having any sample on the other layers. Basically you have other pad layer(s) play the same layer with the kick/sample.

I suspect you’re a Nas fan.

Are people happy with the saturation/overdrive FX on the MPC? They’re not really doing it for me.

if used in doses it works and not with 100% mix

Anyone try using ableton move to sequence midi on mpc?

I did it with an USB-A to Midi Din5 cable. It works, but dont expect great stuff. Lots of times notes hanging (i think this is on mpc side). On the move only 1 midi out. So when i switch from drums to synth, have to go into the menu again. Also noticed a delay when recording from the move sequencer into the mpc ( notes started too late or too early )
Could also be my usb-midi cable, as it was a very cheap one.

The same things happen when I record from the MPC1000/2500 & have it as the Master clock. I would have to put like 2 bars empty bars on both sequencers to get it to be in sync when the notes are sent. I had a one of those black & orange Roland MIDI cables. When I recorded stuff from the DR202 I don’t have to do this.

Does anybody know if there’s a way to exclude a single track from the master effects bus but have it still go to the stereo output with everything else? I feel like I’m missing something but I guess that maybe the MPC just doesn’t have an option to route in ways other than intended.

Use case is that an effect on the master sounds good with everything but is diminishing my bass sound and when I add the same effect to everything individually instead of on the master (except the bass) the mix sounds significantly different.

If the answer is no, then I guess I’ll feel better, but if I’m dumb and just can’t figure out something obvious then that’s fine too
