It’ll likely come out in waves if other betas I’ve been part of are any indication.
I hope not they sort alphabetic, “S” for Sweden pretty down on the list!
Are you sure? Check Logan’s latest post.
I like that he’s dropped a strong hint that NI has the new Maschine in beta but is doing things properly.
The last machine+ release was a bug filled partially finished disaster on release, so it can’t do any worse!
Where? On the beta board?
Edit… found it, I stand corrected, ah well sorry guys my mistake again… 🤦
…maybe, let’s not talk about timing anymore.
It will arrive when it arrives.
Maschine + was one of the worst launch products with the device crashing and freezing. It makes Akai look like professionals by comparison.
Agreed I think I need to engage the filter…
Got the MPC Key 37. My first MPC. Impressions after a few hours: keys feel great; blown away by the sound quality of the included drum samples; [edit: I like the 999 bars length]; don’t like the headphone jack placement, which is basically in the back center of the device; haven’t found the workflow as bad as people say; love that I can assign samples to keys and pads so I can finger drum and play keys at the same time; don’t like whatever the coating is on the pads because it looks like a dust magnet.
What I really got this for was that I wanted a keyboard sampler where I can play different samples on different keys. The only thing else that seems to exist is the Microsampler but that looks like an outdated pain in the butt to use, especially since can’t I even use it on Windows 11 to import samples. So, I’m very impressed by the MPC Key 37. It’s not too big, although it is definitely not small.
It’s ok. You’re excited and excited for us, and so are we.
And clearly we all have more time in front of phones and computers than our MPCs.
Max length 999 bars.
I’ve tried keeping an instrument next to my work computer, it usually ends in me zoning into the music too much and missing things. Doomscrolling and spending time here aren’t quite as distracting.
I’m new to Maschine Plus and have been using it mainly in controller mode.
I’m really impressed with it so far and I’m looking forward to the next Maschine software update!
As I lean heavily on controller modes and computer/DAW integration, MPC 3.0 is irrelevant for me until it is fully configured… and I think/hope NI would understand the importance of keeping them synced (hardware and software), whereas Akai seem to be completely in limbo at present.
I think it has to do with my path as a musician, I come from an extreme music background but I also like some lofi so it all kinda merged…
Stuff says synced with NI as they hardly ever do significant updates now (and I still have a Maschine, but I use a MK2 Komplete keyboard now as it has the Maschine buttons/controls which they took off the new MK3s!)
MPC was always about being stand alone and obviously has a long, long standalone (or as we used to say ‘hardware’) heritage. The Maschine started life as a software controller and did that for a long time before the standalone came out…different focus. I was never a fan of the MPC 2 software (although I like the Live integration so that was how I used it) but MPC3 software may be bette…who knows…I never use my Live 2 as a controller…don’t have the desk space!
All I’m saying is the same benefit of doubt should be given to Akai as with NI. The Maschine Plus was pretty terrible in the beginning, was half baked and was worst than anything Akai has released in the MPC line. I’m glad its getting better over time, but wish that leniency is shown in this thread when no one has gotten the release in their hands yet except for a few.
Having played with the MPC Key 37 a little more, I have to say that I’m loving the Splice feature via the onboard WIFI. So seamless. Imported 300+ samples so quickly. Roland, Elektron, etc., should pay attention. Features like this make importing samples so much less of a chore.
Whats the score on clearing the samples?
