MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

Grado RS-1 and PS-1000

But the fucking cable…pain in the ass. No room in this joint. Just wanna lie in the bed and bang out beats. Headphones make it annoying. They sound amazing, but the fucking cable aaarrrg. Shit needs to be simple for me right now.

Wow them cans ain’t cheap. Are saying the cable is too short? (not the rapper ). I’ve had that problem with the Shure SHR-1540. Plus the rubber coating is annoying. I got a longer/non-annoying cable online that I had to use pliers to force into the connector slots on the headphones but that cable got messed up recently. Good luck with issue.

Get the extension brother . You will enjoy it. Same thing happened with my lower end SR225is. Great sound without an amp but hook it up to the mpc 1000 and it feels like you are being choked.

It’s just the cable. Pain in the ass. Plenty long enough. I’d just like the one thing….Live2, speaker, lying in bed making sounds. I’m no musician, doesn’t have to sound good. Just wanna make beats. The headphones are for listening to GOOD music. Nahm-sayin.

Anyways…I’ve got bigger issues to deal with.

Watched this last night… belter :facepunch:, apparently he’s promising to get more open about his processes and how he achieves his sets etc on his channel, I’m stoked to hopefully see if he reveals how he sets up his programs and stuff, if he does it’ll be fascinating… I’m a big fan :+1:

Edit… this got me kinda pondering what it takes to set up a really basic layout so I could try this myself, I’ve always watched closely to see if I could work out what’s going on where when he does his thing, if you watch closely his main break is chopped onto his four lower left pads and he plays them ina circular pattern with pitched snare and shuffles around those, then there’s some pad linking going on with the bass hits and loops etc…

I got a little thing started and man the mind boggles how he juggles all that and keeps his timing spot on, it was all I could do to keep a bass loop and a break in time for 5 mins and that was with the bass loop pad linked so I only had five pads to think about and hit the 5th pad every two bars… the man’s a genius…

Nice studio tour and when he gets to his MPC’s at the 4min mark it’s fun and surprising…

Hadn’t considered the need for a studio barber shop.

Yeah, he makes it look easy. I occasionally have a little dabble while I’m chopping breaks but I’m good for about a minute :joy: looks like he’s using pad banks for variations and switch ups, and occasionally doing something with a mixer or deck for transitions.

Don’t want to be unfriendly but what is this guy producing???
Some of his tracks I’ve found…well… Is this HipHop???
Or is he just a showcase?

He’s a multi-multi- platinum producer

I’m gonna read that as deaf :joy:

My Live is so gross, I can’t use it. Sticky AF, lint city. How can one get inspired to use the thing when it’s disgusting to touch. How does one complain to AKAI…I try to go thru support but get in an neless loop to nowhere.

Seriously freakin pissed off over this. The unit is fucking gross.

Mk1 I take it? When my old live went shitty I just put a skin on it, sold it cheap eventually but the skin did a pretty good job of sorting it…

Just some talentless hack with the good sense to shelve the lame MPC X and use the Keys61. And to have a barbershop in the studio. That’s clutch.

Fuck that man…it’s on them to sort this shit out. I didn’t pay money to make mods to a shit decision. It’s the worst it’s ever been.

And I don’t have money for anything right now.

I’ve often suggested BeDazzling a sticky MPC with some sick shimmery rhinestones but it’s always met with skepticism.

sorry…sense of humour is non existent right now.
