MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 1)

This guy in MPC Forums took a picture of MPC Live which he bought from Guitar Center:

The proof…
“In stock and ready to ship”

As for the X according to this seller…
Pre-Order Available In April 2017 will ship out upon release of product. MPC-X will be released near the end of June.

edit*
Also another MPC forum member got an email from Thomann saying they have a shipping date for the first bunch, 12.05.17, which can serve all preorders. Next shipment will be 31.05.17

Thomann just pushed the date back to the end of the month…

Check the edit i made above ^
Conclusion…
MPC Live preorders started shipping and the rest of the orders will start shipping at the end of May which i think will be the launch day…
MPC X launch day somewhere near at the end of June…

They do that when they sell all the units they expect. This is the date if you purchase now.

Good to know it’s not another delay. It all seems to be in motion. If Akai can fulfil their order, I’ll have one from Berlin JustMusic’s first batch… Tapping fingers…

Why impose iLok on customers who purchased hardware :unamused:

My thoughts too…

Is this a perm thing or just for the “open beta”?

Its official now, the MPCs have launched!

Laaaaame if I’m gonna have to use ilok to integrate Live with daws :frowning:

Edit - Saying that, I have no experience with ilok. Good or bad. Just remember seeing a lot of posts complaining about it over the years…

I don’t understand, why would you need an Ilok if you already have a hardware controller?

The iLok is just for the software and only if you want to have it installed on multiple computers. It won’t affect standalone mode at all. Honestly I think iLok is pretty awesome. If you need to go to another studio to do some work, just let them know what plugins you need and bring your iLok along to activate them when you get there. Super easy.

Kind of is, tho as you’d imagine Most people that complain are the ones that don’t have one. I had to get one for pro tools but it means I can take it anywhere and use the license, which is the main plus really as you just plug it in.

I stand corrected.

The bitching about 2.0 is just about ready to start over on MPC Forums…

Seems users so far are pretty underwhelmed with V.2 software on akai forum. Can’t really blame them from what I’ve seen. I’d be disappointed if that was my main daw/controller too… And they waited forever for the it to drop

Standalone merit is potentially different story tho… Hopefully some Live vids appear next few days.

Yeah, they talking about a revamped GUI of 1.9 and 3 or 4 new features, thats it. I’d definitely be pissed waiting a whole year and a half.

Anyhoo, I preordered the Live because its standalone, 2.0 really doesn’t appeal to me nor do I plan to produce with a computer.
