yes - just assign different samples to the pads (this makes me wonder how well you understand the mpc at a very basic level…so bear with it)
yes - route the pads to different outputs of the mpc, then plug those into octa
i’m not really sure what you mean - maybe like you’ve got the top pads playing and you want to switch samples WHILE they’re playing? that doesn’t really make sense - but there are a ton of ways to do what you are talking about.
probably simplest answer is to build a program with the four banks being identical on the bottom half but with different samples on the top half, so you can just switch by hitting a bank button.
The best tip I can give you is ditch the akai os and at least get the free jjos.
I understand it a bit… I’ve used a NI Maschine before so I get that you can assign different samples on the pads… and doing what you said jeffe, using banks with the same samples on the bottom makes a lot of sense.
That’s cool you’ve got some experience with maschine - I would say use it just as you are used to until you hit a road block.
I know there are some big differences in terms of scenes / groups from the maschine and how that translates to the mpc.
You can tell maschine is inspired by the mpc but they definitely did not do a carbon-copy.
Another technique I’ve heard for swapping samples is using the velocity layering and the q link slider…this might be a more advanced premium jjos feature though.
