Yeah, our history teacher showed us this for some reason. He’s a weird and funny hippie and i am friends with his child.
Even better watch this time. It is quite original of a movie re the characters of “troubled youth” battling now common themes.

Class Of Nuke 'Em High is another cult classic that was crazy fun to watch and if you like things like campy movies like Toxic Avenger and Swamp Thing

The first one is fantastic. So much better than the second…and by better, I mean just the right level of over-the-top camp. Very good popcorn action comedy.

i enjoyed it… lots of classic characters, reasonable story … its funny too.
Warner’s wanted to mothball it … it might not make lots of money but its worth releasing … glad they allowed someone else to distribute it.

A chilled bank holiday relaxing after watching The Prodigy last night, so thought i’d watch a movie. I don’t know why I didn’t watch this around the time it was released as it heavily features ‘Fight The Power’ in the soundtrack and I was well into PE and hip hop back then. Turned out to a be a great film that left me questioning a few things at the end.
I also didn’t realise that Spike Lee played one of the main characters in the film until I read a bit about it afterwards.

I like movies bit I’m not good at talking about them, let alone let alone making others want to watch them.
But there is one picture and one city I always recall when comes the end of summer, it’s Joachim Trier’s Oslo, 31. August.
That’s the only movie I’ve gone to see twice at the theater (as far as I remember). It was in January. Actually it left such an impression that the next summer, I spent a (almost) unplanned weekend in Oslo… on August 31st ^^

Evil Dead Burn is not nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be, especially those of you that loved Evil Dead Rise (me), and you made it through every last end credit of Burn.
now, i did finally get to see Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.
afert the initial 134min snoozefest, it got better

Last night I sat and watched the Jason Statham movie “Shelter”.

This movie is not going to win any awards for originality, plot or script, but it had really excellent crunching action sequences. It was exactly what I was after for a Friday night!
I know a lot of people are snooty about this sort of thing, but I like Jason Statham because he is totally unpretentious and he knows exactly what the brief is. I’m not a fan of the surge of CGI-driven Marvel movies etc, most of which have crappy action sequences where nothing feels remotely real and there’s no sense of threat.
The fights in this movie looked genuinely painful and there’s a great car chase. The director is a former stuntman and stunt coordinator and I think you can tell when these guys know the craft. They know where to put the camera to get you right in the chaos.
I basically just want more action movies having practical effects, real fight performers and as much as possible happening in-camera!

I’m not sure I’d recommend Mayday , I’m 3/4 of the way through it and it feels a bit like American propaganda … some vomit inducing dialogue about ‘land of the free’ and all the cliches about Russia … .
Typical Ryan Reynolds wise cracking dialogue .

I feel the same about Ryan Reynolds. He’s really good at playing the wise-cracking smart ass, so good that he’s painted himself into a corner. If he’s done something different in the past 15+ years, I’m unaware of it. He’d have to do something gimmicky like a dialogue-free movie to even begin to break out of it.

Sure, I get that. Me and my buddies loved “Waiting” back in the day, and I think the teens of today love Deadpool the same way. This is the only one I can recall where he did something significantly different…

It’s essentially a one location movie where he’s buried in a box, communicating only through a phone to figure out how to get rescued. I remember it being somewhat interesting due to the central concept (make an entire movie out of that one scene from Kill Bill where Uma Thurman is trapped in the coffin!), but I don’t remember it being all that great

- The Elon Musk doc - Musk, by Alex Gibney
They seem to have similar themes of exposing “tech geniuses”. Interesting they are both generating buzz at roughly the same time. Hope they’re good. Holmes has already fallen. Wonder if this doc will have any effects on the fortunes of Musk?
There’s also the upcoming Luca Guadagnino biopic of Sam Altman
