I love that movie and it’s really great that Matt Dillon’s band is pearl jam. That movie can immediately transport me back to another time and a whole other mindset, but Kyra Sedgwick still gets no pass from me. I do like some other Cameron Crowe movies quite a bit but that may be my favorite of his.
Also on my list of actors who do not get a pass: Chris Pine, Diego Luna, Miles Teller
In which movie is one of the characters fond of Coen Brothers, except Miller’s Crossing that he thinks is a stain in their filmography?
I think this character is a gangster…
Edit: it’s Preacher’s Irish vampire, the brilliant Cassidy!
The adverts before the movie are better.
A 404 missing webpage has a more unpredictable story line.
Embarrassing for all involved though I guess they all got paid . I doubt anyone has it on their cv.
A little late, but just finished it. I enjoyed it. Utterly wicked sense of humor, and enough twists past the initial premise to keep it interesting. It’s not at the level of Barbarian, in terms of turning the narrative on its head, but it was fun.
That said, the trope of “victimized robot gets revenge against soulless human masters” is up there with zombie movies doing the whole “man is the real monster” thing
It’s a great film! My favorite from Kaurismäki is Calamari Union. In the late nineties I did with a bunch of friends a day long walking excursion in Helsinki inspired by it.
Yes, quite often when I was still a university student (both Corona & Kafe Moskva). Also saw many films in the film theater Andorra the Kaurismäki brothers partly founded. And there are still many bars in Helsinki that were filming locations.
