yeah nothing else they can be. haven’t done the mod yet, pulled out my multimeter to make sure which pins on the board correspond to plug pins (5 pins soldered onto board) but the battery has leaked and screwed it up. amazon order incoming!
The RevMix unicorn has appeared, now for $120 plus shipping.
I swore to myself to never buy a janky old mixer again. If anyone is brave enough. Zero reviews online for this
That is the Kawai branded version of the Nady MM4. They are identical except for the name. I have 2 of the Nady MM4s. Great mixer. Low noise, stereo i/o with stereo effects send. Love that they are standard 12v dc barrel adapter. I power mine with a usbc battery bank. Also they are designed to chain 2 together for 8 channels. I only paid around $50 for mine though.
EDIT: The Kawais have the reverb instead of aux in. There is a difference.
From a video I’ve seen on this RevMix, one side of the dial is reverb, and the other is a stereo aux send.
Which is a strange choice but makes it that much more interesting! I love these old mixers!
found this in modular Bartender – After Later Audio
2 stereo aux (though you can only use 1 per channel). also expandable with add on modules
£350 is a bit much though as don’t need the cv control
its the search for the holy grail. a a small stereo mixer with stereo aux! you look around and see loads of interesting effects units with stereo ins and no mixers to work with them!
I think a small mixer with any kind of aux would be a start!
If it’s just a small mixer you want, the the k-mix is great. Up to 3 stereo sends, 4 stereo/8 mono ins, eq, reverb, USB audio interface, bus powered, can also be a midi controller.
Just beware, Keith McMillen stuff is notorious for the surface coating turning sticky and gummy.
At that cost I’d get a blue box.
I’m thinking of something like the Moukey.
I think the blue edition removed that coating.
I haven’t been able to find one in stock anywhere for a long time now though - I suspect it’s discontinued.
yeah same with the Qu Nexus keyboard. I have the old black version that went sticky. The new red one doesn’t have the rubber texture coating but I hate red equipment!
this would be amazing if it had stereo fx send. 4 stereo, 4 mono
I just learned how to mod an aux into a mixer. Will try modding a small mixer and add some auxes.
Will report back.

So if I’m reading this right, each of the 8 inputs are stereo inputs (8 stereo channels total with the right cabling), and it has 2 separate stereo outputs (also with the right cabling), and those two can be controlled independently?
Correct
I just bought an alternate version of the 4 channel mixer on aliexpress.
Uses the same opamps as the moukey, same switches, pots and jacks.
Electrolytic caps are a different brand.
25AUD which is about 12GBP. Bargain.
Solid as.
Low noise, absolutley.
Really great mixer. Does the job and does it well. Build quality is great. It doesnt over drive or have any panning or EQ obviously, its very simple.
My partner bought the 8 channel one for her stuff. Same thing just bigger. Same quality.
Cant grumble at the price either.
