can’t copy the direct link on mobile, but basically you download the installer of the ULmk4 from the Downloads section, once installed there will be a MOTU Audio Tools app installed as well. not sure why they’ve ditched it from the mk5 installation, it’s pretty smooth compared to other standalone analyzers I’ve tried.
and it has oscilloscope, very nice for DN experimentations
Thanks! Looking forward to using this to generate some diagrams for a music psychology research paper I’m hoping to publish.
gotta say it’s pretty in-depth analyzer, my only gripe with it that you can only view one at a time, but other then that it works great and it has pretty much everything
Here’s the link in case anyone else wants to check it out.

Hi Windows MK5 owners
I have finally decided to take the jump and upgrade my audio interface so I can do some live recording directly to Ableton. I currently own the M4 and have been pretty happy with Motu software and drivers
I naturally wanted to stay within the company I already trust, which lead me to the MK5
The adat expandability and current analog i/o aligns perfectly with my current need (and my gas for a Push 3 and using it as an adat slave to p3 someday)
Based on some of the replies above, it sounds like motu has not been great at supporting Windows drivers for products as they age. Along with the CueMix software
Can any windows user comment of this in it currently state?
Also I found a video saying the cue mix software was updated after the release
but I would be interested to see if anyone here is seeing any glaring functionality missing from the software that bugs you
I’ve had no issues with my Win10 machine. Running an i9 with 32gb ram + Sonarworks Reference.
I really haven’t played around in CueMix too much after setting it up, but I do really like the quick input monitoring function for times when I just want to sound design on a single synth without firing up my entire system + DAW
Quick q for mk5 users, can you set up routing in cuemix and then save it to hardware so it persists even when computer is off?
Yes, it seems to work this way. Once I setup mine using Cuemix, I don’t have to run Cuemix anymore. So it seems the hardware keeps all the routing and settings independently.
However, I’m not unplugging it from my computer, so I’m not 100% certain for dawless use cases.
Yes.
just double checked by unplugging from my mac and it works standalone with the last settings from cuemix
UL Mk3 on win - I always had to reset drivers to get it to work on my system. Everytime I switched on pc i had to "check for driver issues and repair "
Now im on UL Mk5 and had no issues on windows. Works perfectly for me.
Ok sorry if this has been covered, I skimmed through this thread but didn’t see my use case… At least not in the way my head thinks, ha
I’m looking at this mk5, and I think it might work, would love confirmation.
I want an audio interface that can multitrack all my inputs directly into my DAW over USB, each track separated.
Yes, the Ultralite can record each input into your DAW as individual mono tracks, or pair the inputs and record as stereo tracks.
Ok that was easy. Thanks!
In case this is useful to anybody in the future… I couldn’t control the volume of the MK5 from my Mac keyboard. Turns out I’d never installed Motu’s drivers, only the CueMix software!
Hey all!
Trying to route ADAT inputs directly to analog outputs using CueMix. Is there really no feedback for telling you what the mix fader and pan levels are set at? ie: I can’t figure out how to set the pans to center or faders to 0.
Any ideas?
edit: Using iOS app btw.
edit 2: I guess you can double click in MacOS, doesn’t seem to work iOS though.
Seems like sales are starting early this year. Anyone have the scoop on a deal for the MK5? My wallet is open.
Edit: got one! Love it
I’ve been hoping the used market would be flooded with Mk4’s but I haven’t seen a single one on reverb yet. Want to replace my Traveller with a dual MK4 setup. Might just have to grab the AVB.
I wish Cuemix5 was midi controllable, I could really utilize my EC4 to make a nice template for lots of things instead of fiddling with the app, stuff like main outs volume, headphones volume, line in gains, maybe even map the eq/comp per analog in… I mean it already has a midi in…
anyone knows if MOTU listens to community/feature requests and if it’s worth the time to write them?
Any MK5 users having clicks and pops with their M1’s? I found several posts about it online but I still couldn’t figure out how to solve it… any info is greatly appreciated. It happens with any kind of audio playback. Firmware is updated to the last version.
Also: is there really no way to link channel gains when they’re set to stereo pairs?
