How would you rate the learning curve so far, in general?
I wonder if it’s an ‘endless exploration’ type of machine, or rather one you can bring under control after a while, and harness into making whatever you want?

I’d say that it strikes a good balance between being easy to use and difficult to master and get the most out of. By just using the direct main panel controls, it’s fairly easy to replicate certain sounds. The range of sound is diverse, but it’s narrower than going into deeper territory via modulation and multitimbrality.
That’s where the instrument shines, I think. That aspect currently feels like endless exploration, though it is fun. The interfaces for modulation and multitimbrality are fairly easy to use and understand, but it requires a bit more thinking things through. Like I don’t think I’d be able to recreate some of the patches I’ve already made. Thankfully you can save patches, haha.
The factory patches are really impressive. There seems to be a lot of depth and nuance to the instrument that will take some time to discover.
The Morphor Echon 6 and the Twisted Electrons FlexFM seem to be the stars, at least for me, from SB26 (along with the Melancholytron).
Thanks for this informative point of view!
It seems this synth takes some getting used to, so it will also be interesting to know what you think once you have spent more time with it ![]()
Great, how do you feel about it after several more days? Is it a keeper?
If your not on a shy side, could you record and make an audio demo of messing around with it?
The price tag will keep me away for a time being, but I have to say I feel a strong lust
After spending some more time with Echon 6, my feelings about it are entirely positive. It’s absolutely a keeper for me. I love how well it balances predictable (the exciter) with unpredictable (the resonator). I find it to be very fun and exciting to make music with. Outside of its general sound (which I love), I’m really vibing with the user interface. I’ve never really minded screens on synths, but I appreciate the lack of one on Echon. The are still visual indicators which help a lot. It’s very fast to work with, even in multitimbral patches.
I’ve recorded a few things with it so far, though with heavy effects. I’ll try to record a few things without so many effects, but it just sounds so good through whatever you run it through.
Even though I’m loving it, I still can’t really say for certain if it’s worth the price tag or not. This is the most expensive instrument I’ve ever owned and I would be lying if I didn’t have some reservations about that. The way I’m looking at is that I’m already making a good amount of music with it, without forcing myself to just because it was so expensive. Ultimately, I’m very happy with it without taking the price into consideration.
just got the echon 6 a few days ago.
Day 1, this thing is beautiful and build quality is amazing. feels expensive af.
Was pretty discouraged cause the first session, i wasnt getting anything that sounded good when trying to shape from the init patch. The feedback on the resonate after 12 o clock would just go crazy and I was having trouble taming everything. didnt sound musical. I also i dont have a midi keyboard except my digitakt 2 controller. Was considering returning this cause i thought it wasnt for me.
Kept doing the same thing the next two days and i was watching more videos on youtube (very few available) and realized the key to this is the mod matrix. The modulation is very easy to figure out and it really helped taming the sound. I can also tell the possibilties are endless with different modulation routing. Pretty amazing how they implemented and laid it out on the knobs. Was able to get some decent typical pluck noises with some LFO movement.
Felt a bit of relief as im getting to know more of the machine. Im watching windergaarden on youtube and he really makes the synth open up. I think i do need a proper keyboard and some knowledge of chords and such to create these beautiful moving sound scapes. Going to hook it up to a torso t1 thats arrives today so i can get some more control.
Going to get more familiar with grouping and programming each voice, cause that seems to make it really dynamic sounding.
Overall, the UI is great but its going to take some time for me to really understand how to shape the sounds into what i want. Curious to see how diverse the sounds can be, besides plucks and pads.
It would be so helpful if there were more tutorials online on how the presets were built. Hope theres more content uploaded as more people get the device.
similar to rbeny - dont know if its worth price yet. Ill have a better idea as time goes on. curious to hear more of your experiences
okay this thing is fire. made my first patch and sequenced it with the T1 and unlocked the next level . we uppppp
Could you share some audio of this patch or your next? Best if sequenced but not heavy on fx
Many thanks
I love the monent between 01:23 and 01:36
What a rich harmonies by adding noise to the mix. Lovely ![]()
I start to belive I would fall in love with this synth. So pricey tho…
Demo patch. Using the T1 to sequence chords and blips on two midi channels. The LFOs are modulating the feedback, resonator, filter, and slight panning.
Rest of the parameters are just hand tuned as i go to show the range of sounds.
Gonna work on some more patches
Thank you Mike, please bring em more🙂
whoever got an echon 6, share ur patches yall
