thoughts? demos?
anyone?
hey bkinsman,
glad to know someone is looking for users’ feedback and it’s probably a good idea for me to chime in on the matter: there were a couple of issues in the first batch of controllers which needed to be fixed and this also means that some of the boards need to be sent back/fixed, and in a one man band, things may take a bit longer than usual but i should be able to sort things out in the next few days, so hopefully there’ll be videos from users soon (yes please!
) in the meantime, if you haven’t done it yet, you could watch some of the videos yt
I don’t have one, but I recently bought a DJ mixer from someone who had one in their studio setup.
He was using an OT, MnM and MD. He showed me the morph4 working on the MD. Was really cool.
I have an AR and am interested with how the morph4 will work in conjunction with the performance mode. Looks like it would also be heaps of fun with my SYSEX heavy rack synths (Microwave1 in particular).
guga, what does the Morph4 do? The description on the website isn’t that clear.
Hey limp meat that sounds suspiciously like me. How’s the mixer going?
Anyway can recommend it as a device for controlling anything midi as long as it can send / receive cc messages. Used it at a gig on Saturday night with no issues. Really opens up devices for interesting sound changes when 2 hands not enough
vids?
I missed this memo… Can anyone tell what this is exactly? URL? Casual search by the title only gave a german architechture company and a weird UT video with some kind of morphing superhero character
It’s a device for morphing parameters.
You have control via x-fader over 4ccs using up to 8 scenes plus a 5th cc via an additional potentiometer that doesn’t morph. There are 4 presets to store different versions of the above.
Also incorporates another 2 modes for a random generator and lfo/waveform generator that can run off Internal midi clock.
Uses midi learn to grab cc’s and has internal 9vbattery compartment as well as power supply plug.
From memory There is a manual on gugabox.com
Wowzers! Thanks for the info. Looks like this lil box might be a must-have item for me in the near future
PS: How’s the fader? Ie. can you pull off crabs with it?
wow
Hey Ozone, yep that was you!
Mixer is good, haven’t had a lot of time to play with it yet. Been spending most of my time reassembling my modular and getting to know my AR.
Definitely interested in a morph4 and OT after your little demo
there’ll be some more in-depth videos on yt asap so that it’ll be easier to understand how to setup things and use the controller
the manual will also need to be rewritten in some parts due to the latest changes in the firmware but this won’t take long so stay tuned
@ozone: thanks for helping with the info and demoing the Morph4 to limpmeat, much appreciated
No worries Guga, greatly looking forward to the new firmware details.
Limpmeat: yeah the OT my favourite performance machine, Can only recommend it irreguardless of the naysayers… not perfect but miles ahead of the rest. Sure the AR would give it a money run though in jamming mode.
The AR is amazing, best drum machine I’ve used. Maybe not from an analog synthesis point of view, but as a total package it’s nuts. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks, and used it in 3 new songs already.
I love it!!!
looking forward to some additional vids, i can’t really tell what it’s doing in the ones i’ve seen so far
thought i would post this one although is only audio, not sure this will help in the meantime
