More Parts?

I know this has come up in the Feature Request thread(s), but I feel it is worth mentioning again. The OT would be infinitely more useful to me with more than 4 Parts per bank. I often find myself using the semi-standard 1 Part=4 patterns configuration, with each part being more or less one song. However, I feel like this is too limiting, as I would like to have more variations per track. One workaround is to change the samples per pattern, but this can be a tedious workflow killer at times.

Coming from the MDUW and MNM, where one could essentially have a different kit per pattern if they wish, it seems like the OT could be twice as effective if there were 8 or 16 Parts per bank. Maybe this would eat up a lot of the on board resources and isn’t as realistic as I’m imagining it, but it seems like it would just take a bit of code to double (or more) the Parts per bank. Anyone know about the nitty gritty here, or just wish they had more Parts to play with?

…i’m pretty sure the architecture of all these realtime options are perfectly tailored to the limits of resources here…

i was asking for more for quite a while, too…

but actually, i realized i’m really fine with two tracks per bank…two parts per track…32!!! tracks in total for one project…

to be honest, i never ever played a show with more than 16 tracks on setlist…

…and it never takes longer than a minute, more or less, to switch projects…

what i do is think of your bank/scene or whatever as a kit and the “patterns” more as variations or parts. lol imo you get get so much variation out of just one pattern with scenes and parts.

what i think would be nice would be a way of selecting + going directly to parts across banks quickly, so like each of your 16 trigs could do something like jump to pattern 1 (or the same pattern you are in, dunno?) in banks 1-4 on parts 1-4.

more reframing what’s already there. because doing bank, pattern, part select button combo is time consuming, more steps to go wrong and harder to remember what part is assigned to what pattern. (and in which bank!)

then by hitting the page button then you could select parts in banks 5-8, 9-12, 13-16…

dunno about anyone else, but i almost always just start a new project instead of using all banks and parts (and scenes!) possible because it gets to be a drag to navigate and keep track of…and i honestly don’t usually need that many for a track.
