The SubH is the beginning melody… and the root of the whole jam…
Sometimes I use the sub osc in the upper register instead of bass… with the Syntax Error 2, it went power shredd
Also… make sure you sequence everything in key… its all based of the first osc… all the subs, and the second osc are based on what the first osc is doing…
if everything is in key, you can play the sequencers in any combo and it will always work…
it can be difficult though, because the SubH is based on subdivisions, so you sometimes dont get all the notes in a scale…
Also… treat one sequence as a melody, with the second sequencer being the pedal note… basically, have it run through its first sequence fully for every one trig of the second sequencer…
The end of the vid I breakdown what Im doing with everything.
I paired mine with A4 and AR. Used CV outs from A4 to mod SH, and CV in on A4 from SH to mod the A4. This worked well for carving out space for other things. Statically modulating the pwm was a good way to make it sound smaller, and resonance also. Got one nice track before I sold it. I thought it was very time consuming working with the SH. It’s a funny sequencer though, but the synth in itself sounded too large for me, and the sound of the sort of hard synced oscillators made my ears tired of it. I wish the sequencers had mutes/accents, and I wish the master volume was a bipolar modulation destination.
I don’t want to spam each Moog thread. There is an interesting comparison video here. I wish it had more sound examples though. Too much talking to my liking.
Two weeks on vacation.
Finally, peace and quiet to work with and explore Moog Subharmonicon…
The result is an album, just Subharmonicon and Soma’s FLUX!!
Just ordered my fifth or sixth Subharmonicon. I have a problem, like @brucegill and Octatracks. Looking forward to combining this with my Qu-Bits (Mojave and Aurora) and sampling into my P-6s.
First post here. Love the Subharmonicon sound and the flexibility it provides. Put together a beat with the Subharmonicon together with the Model:Samples.
I’ve wanted one of these since they came out. I’ve recently been playing around with subharmonics on guitar (via Fuzz Factory) and my Moog Subsequent 37 (via the feedback circuit). Loving those sounds.
I finally ordered one. Alas, it showed up malfunctioning. The VCO 1 knob didn’t do anything past 1 o’clock. VCO 2 was fine. Already returned it. Bummer.
