I think he probably had someone like a synth tech mod it, unless he knows his way around a circuit board. I imagine it would require some soldering.
haha irrelevant⌠the point was Moogs are being used for making music and not just collecting. her new (unreleased) record went platinum in hours. taste aside, Moogs being used on such a record⌠itâs clear itâs being used and heard. thatâs all.
not sure what your man comment is all about, but thatâs likely more about youâŚ?
That Voyagerâs internals are so beautiful. I understand why they donât anymore, but sort of miss the thru hole boards.
Mike Dean is the reason why I bought the Grandmother, Matriarch, M32, 2 x Dfams, and that Subharmonicon
Def. He has videos of him in Asheville, so he probably had Moog do it for him. And it makes sense. The matriarch has a modular setup at its core, so modding a couple of the modules would be easy peasy
Yeah, I forgot and was tired regarding the patch memory. I would re-acquire a sub phatty if I could afford one. That thing rocks. I couldnât go for the Little Phatty b/c I just prefer having as much instant up front control as possible for random live tweaking.
This
Was the Memorymoog made after Bob left? Iâm paraphrasing, but didnât he say something like polyphonic synthesizers means polyphonic problems, haha. I could be totally wrong, but it seems like the Moog One may have repeated history. I remember a year of silence about a promised update to the One. It was during Covid, mind you, so it must have hit them pretty hard. Still, the silence was deafening for many M1 owners. My friend had so many problems, I held off on a used one. I still regret it, though!
Like Tats-era Korg, I loved Amos-era Moog. My adoration for them was dinged near the end after a series of public missteps, but I certainly didnât want them to fail. Maybe the Mirror puts them back on track to success.
Iâm pretty sure it was. Wiki says he started Big Briar in â78 and the MemoryMoog didnât come out until 1980 according to PF
I still think itâs brilliant Moog got free advertising at one of the most expensive TV Spots out there!
It will be interesting to see if the Mirror is multitimbral like the One. Would be nice to be able to layer voices
Looking forward to hearing some sound demos.
The only review I care about
Been 'bout time they friggen listen to the man!
I wish theyâd hurry up with more details and, ideally, units to ship.
This months long hype cycle is what you need to do when you donât have an established brand.
They could drop a Moog-branded poly and sell a bunch of them right now with no pre-hype at all.
Ainât nothing like free pre-hype for a product pre-launch.
I do hope there is something wrong with this synth and/or itâs too expensive cause I donât want to want it.
True, theyâve gotten a fantastic amount of buzz for, what, a strategically placed preproduction instrument (in white) and a agreed-upon teaser photo? Marketing on the cheap.
Canât blame them for maximizing their ad dollar, I am just getting sick of the hype cycle. Give me sounds, a video of the interface/UI, and a link to order one.
Same. Iâve enjoyed the shadow drops and release day announcements weâve gotten over the last few years, I had forgotten how annoying the hype (and anti-hype) cycle can be.
I think this type of trickery or, ahem, promotion is to be expected. This isnât a unique tactic utilized only by the synthesizer industrial complex.
In fairness to Moog, they usually have a pretty quick turnaround from promotion to release. Their software appears pretty much instantly, with no hype cycle involved, and itâs not like Moog is pushing lots of cryptic advertisements or press releases for something thatâs not even in production yet. They just gave a few testers the go-ahead to say âyup, Moog has a new thing soon.â
And, it should be said, most of the âhype cycleâ in these things is just us, sitting on message boards guessing about VCO counts (ducks tomato).
