And such a lot of explaining to do, too.

I had a message about my Messenger. The message was my Messenger just shipped. End of message.
Firmware update is out
Not trying to hate ⦠Iām a longtime Moog fan ⦠but the resonance compensation sounds ⦠bad.
What sounds bad about it?
ftfy
Iām sure it can be tuned with software updates
Yeah I agree it sounds weird⦠like not the typical compensation, almost like they are just clipping the resonant peak to bring up the bass.
I think this synth sounds fantastic, and each demonstration I see or hear reinforces that impression. I wish I could come up with a reason to buy one.
Judging by that Rez compensation video thereās something about this filter that sounds strange to me in general, it doesnāt sound like the normal Moog ladder even in the traditional 4p mode, thereās a weird bit of high end distortion like thereās some extra resonance always on or something? Iām not sure Iād say it sounds BAD, just different.
Itās a design choice. They wanted it to match the bad-sounding wave folder
Ā« Midlife crisis synth Ā« . That was my excuse.
Mine has been ongoing for about 25 years, so it has begun to wear a bit thin as an excuse to buy things I donāt need. So far, the best I can come up with is that a Messenger would fit nicely on the top of my Polymoog - especially if I bought a Micromoog to put next to it.
I had one for many years. I loved its industrial look and it sounded just as youād expect. Looking back, it was one of my favorite Moog synths.
Looking forward to seeing your picture of it with a Messenger .
First impressions, I love it.
Had a couple of hours with it today and Iām really impressed. The keys are really nice and it sounds great. It can sound like a classic Moog if you want but the additional wavefolding, FM, feedback and filter types take it much further. I really like the Res Bass option. Without it you canāt really do squelchy acidic baselines. It sounds great with the 2-pole LP filter.
Edit: Day 2 - Spent another couple of hours this morning. Loopop isnāt wrong when he says it has a DFAM mode. You can really get lost in the sound design. Itās capable of creating some really industrial sequences, perfect for Techno
