Nice try, but that’s Thomann’s new synth and not Moog’s, as clearly written on it.

stamped steel can take on a variety of appearances.

so can cnc’d metal since it’s a process of removing material from a solid block and thus the three dimensions can be more freely defined.

but the bottom of that synth is plastic.

It’s been stated in some videos. Top and rear are metal, sides and bottom are plastic.

Yes, but stamping requires a mold to shape the the metal. Which costs mucho dineros… which I don’t think Moog will invest in for their low budget offering.

That plastic part Is vacuum formed which in comparison costs next to nothing…

Well that is fair!

I haven’t watched any videos because frankly I don’t care.

is what I was responding to.

not this bit of after the fact reasoning.

Ok ok ok. If you want my engineering take, the inner corners at the back and the four screw towers in the front wouldn’t be possible to stamp. The screw towers are to small and sharp for the metal to bend, it would crack during stamping. The inner corners are too deep for that type of narrow stamping. It would most probably also crack the metal during the stamoung process.

Plastic doesn’t mean it won’t become a classic, nor does it mean it is destined for the junk heap.

Well, obviously it’s crap. I’ll tell you what… I’m a nice guy. I’ll take it off your hands to save you the embarrassment of owning a plastic synth. You gotta pay shipping, though.
