Monomachine Newbie T&T youtube

I am just getting started with Monomachine and thought it would be cool to have this spot to share tips and tricks. I am also new to sound synthesis so just going through a pretty steep learning curve. I’ll put an example out there, but please be nice and share

This steep learning curve is the most exciting bit. MnM falls within a very specific category - an instrument which you are supposed to doscover yourself. It is true there are some general tips an tricks (like regular rules of how you could get on with basics) but there aren’t any tips and tricks for cretivity. MnM is unique. You’ve got your first video and attempt to discover the MnM and demonstrate it. So, you’ve already created something. In order to do it better, you really need to know that the MnM is a huge time-eating monster. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The manual would just give you the basics (it is actually a very good overview).

A frequent trick from me:
I play a lot with the filter HPQ and BASE. Adjust the HPQ to a high value and then play with the filter BASE.This technique is quite useful if you want to explore higher octaves and create interesting sounds that might imitate birds, crickets, clicks even farts… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The same is very cool if applied to a DPRO BBOX trig. Then you could create some wird beats or small sonic details, even rain (then you need to maintain small DEC and HOLD values).

Explore and explore further! Congrats for your brilliant choice - the MnM is still incredible.

I am the new and very lucky owner of a mono machine keyboard. So excited about learning to use this exciting and unique synth
