Hi all,
I’m having some problems with my Monomachine…
I’m happily using it as a midi sequencer at the moment together with my Maschine. Thing is, that I’m only using the basics since some stuff seem to mess everything up…
I can’t:
[ul]
[li]use slides for smooth lock transitions[/li]
[li]parameter locks on cc values[/li]
[/ul]
What happens is that the monomachine starts running a tempo of 300 bpm (currently i 135) and I can see with my midi monitor that it’s also sending out loads of pitch messages even though I clear everything.
Had to do an empty reset yesterday to make sure nothing weird was turned on, but it still happens.
The setup is that I send midi clock from Maschine and the midi output from Monomachine goes into my motu ultralite mk3.
Anybody tried something like this and with good results? Thought it could be nice to get most out of my Monomachine.
wow - I just did an empty reset once more… It seems it’s just by turning the pitch bend that everythings gets messed up. Seems like even though I put the pb to 0, the Maschine doesn’t receive the info… hmm
I have checked, and it’ only midi clock going out from the Maschine. I’ve also been thinking that it’s because the monomachine was built mainly for mtc solutions?
I’ve been using the MnM as the brain of my setup for a long while now and the main issue I’ve had is that some pieces of gear that I have do not respond well to parameter locks and/or program changes.
For instance, my Biscuit will not respond to program changes after so many program changes are sent. It will work for the first few messages sent, and then it just stops. Occasionally it will stop responding to parameter locks, too.
So, I have a feeling that the piece of gear on the other end is causing some issues. I would test using something else in place of the Maschine to troubleshoot the problem from there.
i would do what PeterHanes says and also check that what’s coming out from the MM won’t trigger stuff on Maschine which will then trigger stuff on the MM … (back to MIDI loop)
i spent a good ten minutes figuring out why BD on the AR was going solo whilst using the MIDI sequencer on the MM…well, after a bit of head scratching i found that changing the speed parameter on one of the LFOs (in the MIDI sequencer) would actually set the first track on the AR on solo
(think it was the LFO speed, will need to double check again) but i guess that’s normal when you have more than one device talking MIDI to others…bound to happen
Make sure there is No LFO active on that Parameter Knob also or that if you have a controller keyboard attached that it isn’t the culprit in this instance.
I have a Monomachine SFX60Mk2 and a MonomachineSFX60+Mk2 and use them regularly to sequence an E-Mu Audity 2000, Super Basstation Rack and several other bits and pieces without any issues this end.
