I’m looking to get into modular and I don’t to invest into a sequencer module at first. Since I have an octatrack, have you guys explored how to use the octatrack sequencer to sequence a basic substractive modular set up. Do you need necessarly a midi to cv module ? If yes which one have you guys eventually gone for?

Look into the cv.ocd. Its really good and doesn’t take up any rack space.

I sequence my modular with OT, but the way I went about it is kinda expensive and convoluted 
Pam’s New Workout (plus expander), out to Model:Cycles midi in. M:C midi out to OT. OT midi out to Polyend Poly midi/cv converter. Did this for a lot of reasons, but I’m not saying they’re good reasons.
OT is amazing for modular. Sequencer, mixer, fx unit and mad inspiration box all in one.
IMO Polyend Poly or Poly 2 provide much MIDI/CV for the money …
