yes, but he wants a system with focus on the morphagene
If you just want to modulate the Morphagene and make the most of a small case (for starters) I’d get a modulation powerhouse like one of those :
- Pamela’s New Workout : enveloppes, gates, Lfo, random etc… with attenuation on board. Can clock your entire system with the midi expander. Only downside is only unipolar and not extremely tactile; but very easy to navigate.
- Batumi : lots of LFOs in one tiny panel, lots of self patching options, alternative mode is powerful. Downside : absolutely needs attenuation if you want subtle modulation.
- Quadra is fantastic but you’d need a little system around it to make it shine really; a bit like Zadar. or any EG really
- Black Octasource is a very cool LFO; but less versatile than Butumi in a small system.
- Marbles might be interesting, lots of gates and CV; but I’ve never tried it. You might need an enveloppe (like Quadra, or Stages or Zadar to mention recent ones) to feed these gates to.
Pams New Workout clocking Batumi wich sends out 2 lfo sines into Erica Pico Alogic (and from then into Pico Seqs, clocked also by Pam … or Batumi) … should be endless fun!
So much information to digest here, team. Thanks for the input!
And with what I listed, he’d have multiple ways to modulate every parameter on the Morphagene and then some. Bipolar, unipolar, one shot, cyclical, dynamic depth. It’s still a very small set of functions, but it would be quite difficult to grow out of that set within a short period of time. Some of the complex shape modes of the CB alone would do amazing things as modulation sources.
It may actually be a bit overkill, but then, I’ve never seen someone pick up a couple of modules, and then not get a couple more shortly after when they know which gaps exist.
- Morphagene
- expert sleepers ES-8 [for audio and cv in/out]
- Reaktor Blocks
