Looks like the firmware is available for download now.
Damn. Great acid sounds starting at 6:00
Howās the build quality on this thing for those that have had it a while?
Itās very much in the brick shithouse category of build quality. Itās extremely thick and heavy. Some complain about the light knobs. They do seem in contrast to the rest of the thick metal bits, but they never bothered me.
I definitely overlooked this machine when it first came out, probably because of the price. But after watching all the updates and hearing lots of sound examples, it looks like a beast of a machine.
Itās rock solid. No issues for me whatsoever.
Itās a reassuringly well-built machine, up there with the best of them. And sounds incredible.
ā¦the belgium one man show continuesā¦it came a long way, that sturdy sonic starship trooperā¦
and yes, modor devices are rocksolid built metal case quality, with in harsh contrast to that, pretty lightweight felt knobsā¦but aslong u donāt try to carry the device by just holding it by itās knobs only, uāll be all fineā¦
but hey, that ānewā still in the title really does not cut anymore, even given the fact that the starship trooper has now climbed to itās 13th firmware updateā¦
which embarks the question, where to take it from here, now that all these sharp as a knife drums even are acompanied by sharp as a knife synth voicesā¦
Sturdy sonic starship trooper, I love that. And so true. Marcel/Modor is just brilliant, constantly adding value and showing support for this formidable machine. The synth voices sound really good. In fact the entire machine has a certain sonic signature that I really like. It tickles my ears in a most pleasing way. Hard to explain!
I would love to see the ability to reroute the channels to any of the outputs and also use a pair of outputs as āsendsā, so you can for example send multiple instruments to output E+F (L+R) with different send amounts and route it back in (since all outputs are actually inserts). This way you could use a reverb or delay (or any other) FX pedal for multiple instruments without the need of an extra mixer.
God, this box is so under the radar. I think itās a clear competitor to the PÄrkons and adds value in many respects. Just as performative, but with greater sound design ability and sophistication. Yes, itās expensive, but pretty much the same price as the HD-01 but with more voices.
Can you send the individual audio channels over USB? To use per channel effects in the DAW.
No USB audio.
Thatās disappointing, especially as itās digital.
