Modifying pitch from external sound sources?

Hi, please tell me if I’m being stupid, but here’s my question:

I was playing an audio recording into the external inputs on the AK, and all the filter parameters/LFO/Envelope stuff was working just fine on it, except for any kind of pitch altering. Is this impossible? Couldn’t really find in the manual, though I did read that when using with another synth’s oscillator, the AK is supposed to use the CV output to modify the oscillator pitch, so I’m wondering if this is even possible

You can use a CV output on the AK to control the pitch of a CV-connected synthesiser’s oscillator.
You can’t use the AK synthesis engine to change the pitch of an incoming audio signal.
These are two completely different things.
