Dont know if it was already mentioned:

Press+Hold Page and pressing Stepbuttons 1,2,3 or 4 leads to display that page. Just like in the DT2.
Also, maybe press+hold function+page and step buttons 1-4 let us loop these pages.

Would be some low hanging fruit is my guess.

  • Resampling
  • Slide (TRIG + FUNC? indicated on the screen)
  • Sample search
  • Better looping support for very short samples
  • Make press-turn in sample browser move between the letters of the alphabet instead of just “faster”
  • Separate loop start and end points (I agree with the FUNC+knob idea somebody else posted)

Gate mode

Since the SWING ALL function is redundant and the button LED isn’t used for anything (assuming it has one), repurpose FUNC+SAMPLE for enabling a GATE mode similar to M:C.

Use sample file loop points

Since professional loop control is unlikely for M:S, being able to upload samples with their own embedded loop points would be fine. With these samples, the M:S’s loop function becomes another form of retrig - that is, the loop of the sample file is always enabled, and SAMPLE START + SAMPLE END truncates it. If the sample’s loop points are outside the range, the track’s are used as with normal samples. When the track’s reverse param is enabled, and LOOP is off, the sample’s loop is played from end to start and the “lead-in” isn’t heard. If LOOP and REVERSE are on, the track’s loop params are used and the sample’s are ignored.

(This might be over-complicated so ideas are welcome)

Despite I don’t think any update will ever reach the Model Samples I guess like any owner a sort of Werp machine would benefit greatly not to mention a Slice machine… but it will never happen
