Model:Cycles as a MIDI interface?

Hi,

I just received a new product and was wondering if I could use the Model:Cycles as a midi interface to connect the said device to my computer. The idea is that I need to connect my device to my computer to download a new system firmware and I currently do not own a MIDI interface.

I have tried to search online and on the manual but I am not sure about how to do it. Would really appreciate some help on that… if anybody tried something similar.

No current elektron devices can be used as ‘proper’ midi interfaces

by proper I mean there is no connection at all between the USB Midi bus and the TRS Midi bus (or DIN on other devices)

So no Midi message sent via USB can be relayed via the device’s MIDI output

I just checked out with the midi-ox and the device is recognized by the app. Can I not use it to transfer sysex files to another device?

Nope - I just explained there is no connection between USB and the ports
