Is there an option to use the sequencer in poly mode?
(I am afraid the answer is no … )?

Yes. See pages 48 and 69 of the manual.

I should have specified more precisely: Is it possible to live-record to the sequencer?
I tried this with my SFX-6 - but was not successful.

Yes. See page 49 of the manual.

I’ve never used an SFX-6. You might try ensuring that its OS is updated to the latest version.
