MNM not sending clock

Hello all,

I’ve got the MNM set up as per the manual suggests, however my LXR, which I have tried connecting from the Thru and Out ports, is not receiving the clock. If I have it set up such that the CME Bitstream 3X sends to the LXR first, then to the MNM through the LXR MIDI Out, both receive the clock. It follows then that it is the MNM not sending the clock.

Any tips?

If you have activated MIDI CLOCK OUT in the Monomachine’s GLOBAL > CONTROL > CONTROL OUT 2 menu, and connected the MM’s MIDI Out port to the LXR’s MIDI In port using a functional MIDI cable, then any remaining problems are down to the LXR.

On the LXR, it appears that you must ensure that you are not filtering out MIDI clock signals, and that you have set the LXR’s tempo to zero:

I have indeed set the LXR to receive only the clock, and have tried setting it to receive all. It’s just strange that the LXR can receive the clock directly from my Bitstream 3X, but when I want it to receive from the MNM, it won’t play nice!

Any way I can easily check if the Out port is doing something it shouldn’t be? Would MIDI-OX do the trick?

Embarrassingly, seems it’s a dodgy cable causing the issue! It’s one of those where if you twist it in the right place, it works, but if not, only sends MIDI maybe 2% of the time. Explains the issues I was having!
