MnM + Nord Drum 2 MIDI issue?

Hi there,

I got some MIDI issues with the Nord Drum 2 and the Monomachine (MKI) :

I need to turn on my ND before turning on the MnM for MIDI to work.

If the MnM is running when I turn on the ND I got no MIDI transmission.
If I turn off the MnM when ND is running (and that I had initially turn on the MnM), still no MIDI transmission…

It took me a long time to figure out why sometimes it worked, sometimes not.

Is that normal ?

Thanks. :yum:

I use my ND2 with my OT, and it doesn’t like midi clock present as it boots up

Yea it’s a known issue . This will happen with any midi signal being present on ND start up. Some heavy cursing involved finding out

I wish I had known this before I returned my ND2…I couldn’t get the midi to work normally. Never figured this out.

Thanks for your replies. I was wondering if my gear was failing. Hopefully not. But that’s quite annoying…
Tokin_Tone : The problem is therefore not existing in every ND2, I guess…

not that much of a problem really in my books. just gotta switch on the ND2 first (and obvs be aware of the problem)

@Ryan : now get one? =) missing out on a pretty bad ass synth here

I think all ND2’s are the same, and it is a bit of a pain, but well worth sticking with. I found that the ND2 with my :elot: is an awesome combination
Another trick with the ND2 is to use a midi dispatcher app / plugin with it to effectively give you a 6 voice polysynth. This is the one I use …

And you’ll get results like this …

Maybe that’s why the Nord doesn’t have a power button to turn it off
I’ve never had a midi issue with mine as its powered on 24/7

Perfectly normal behaviour from Mr ND2
