MnM in PolyMode

The last couple of days I am enjoying myself with playing around in the poly mode. Probably needless to say: also in this more traditional synth way to play the MnM is a cool machine. I programmed some organ and wavetable sounds , but today I was really blown away by the FM machines (https://soundcloud.com/hans-heerooms-1/varese2015) . If anyone has some nice tips for using the MnM as polysynth: please post :slight_smile:

make a kit with all poly style sounds

then when in poly mode you can select 6 preset sounds

just by selecting the tracks

also i think that each track/voice in poly mode have to have all the volumes matched o you might get 1 or more voices quieter.

Wow, nice track! I like the subtle play with beating in the middle.

Nice. Reminding me to use the FM machines in poly-mode more often! And FM machines, in general!

Thanks! Some info on the techniques used while recording:

I added some resonance to the filter, so that when the filter width opens up it slightly hit the overdrive. The ring mod like effect for high tones is actually the sample reduction from the effect page. The reverb is a the Max convolution reverb in Ableton: the natural spaces work very nice on synth pad.

I like the MnM polymode: The only thing I would like to have is 5 voice polyphony and 1 voice FX !

@Hansh: very nice sound. I’ll try to reproduce it. Thx for idea.

@Clunky : cool tip. Thx

A flexible polymode which lets you add the number of voices you want to the polymode so you can use the rest as fx chain(or mono synth/drums/bassline etc)
One can only dream… :slight_smile:

Yeah dynamic and independent voice allocation…
MASSIVE feature request back in the day.
Sadly not even acknowledged. :dizzy_face:

Thanks for the information. I enjoyed your piece a lot.
